Vintage Birthday

Most men are difficult, I think you will agree (making cards for I mean, lol). For this card I used some lovely vintage papers I had, which I thought would go perfectly with the gentlemen stamp from claritystamp. The pocket watch stamp was a freebie from the Craft Stamper, I think. I added a few sizzix photocorners and a computer generated sentiment.

Happy Bird-day

At last I've found somewhere in the U.K. that stock Pink Cat Studio Stamps. They're made in Canada and I was about to order direct from Pink Cat Studios when I discovered http://diestodiefor.com/. Luckily, they had two of the sets I was after in stock, Cat Plate 1 and Tweety.

I placed my order yesterday at 17.33 and guess what, they arrived today! I was amazed. What service, definitely recommended. Thank you to Tracy.

Of course I had to have a play straight away, and this is the first attempt.

The background paper is from DCWV Neutrals stack, and DCWV patterned papers. The image has been coloured with Faber Castell watercolour pencils and Nestabilities die cut. I have added some brads for interest. The sentiment is one of the stamps from the set.

Great news today! Jo, our eldest daughter, graduated from Southampton University. It's been a nerve racking few day, waiting for the result, but she did it. She has worked really hard during the four year course, and now, yeah, hopefully she will get a job (well she is nearly 23, it's time I feel). Anyway,well done, Jo, we are very proud of you.

I used a stampingbella stamp and Nestabilities Oval and Oval Scallop die cuts. I used Prisma colour pencils to colour the image. The sentiment was done on the computer (although it could have done with being a bit redder, it's a bit on the pink side I think) and a few embellishments to finish.

Cutecardthursday

This is my entry for this week's cutecardthursday challenge. The challenge is to use ribbon, brads and buttons on your card, and there is a fab prize for the winner from tracyjanescrafts.

I got this fab new 'Ellie' stamp from stamposaurus this week. I've stamped and watercoloured with Faber Castell pencils then cut it out with oval nestabilities die. I then mounted it onto a scalloped oval die cut.

The background paper is from Bazzill basics. I have attached some stripped organza ribbon and attached a button. The sentiment is by Studio G, which I stamped with a Versamark pad and chalked. Just to finish the challenge I added a couple of eyelets (hope this passes as brads).

Surprise!

At last, the sun is shining, it seems like today is the first summer's day we have had. I thought I would just add this card before going outside to enjoy the sunshine.

Yesterday, I was a very lucky girl, my lovely husband bought me a new camera, yeah. My new toy has an amazing 10 million pixels. I've had a little play with it, but it has so many settings that I don't think I've done it justice yet with this picture. I'll have to carry on playing until I get it right.

Anyway, I really love this cute little character from Penny Black. I stamped him on watercolour paper first and then coloured him with Faber Castell pencils. I used my nestabilities to cut him out and mounted onto some silver card. The 'surprise' stamp is from HOTP.

I used pink petticoat background papers and just to finish I added a flower and a few pearls from my stash.

'To Die For'

This week's Papertake Weekly Challenge is to create a card using die-cuts or punch outs.

This gave me a great opportunity to dust off my old Sizzix machine (it's been a bit redundant since my new found love of stamping).

I decided on the Mannequin dress die. I used a Do-craft card for the background and to cut the dress. I used my Crop-a-dile to add a few eyelets along the edges and finished off with some dotty ribbon.

Special Day

We have a wedding coming up in a few weeks. The bride is my mother's cousin's daughter, don't quite know what relation that makes me. Anyway, I've really wanted to have a proper go using my Cuttlebug embossing folders, up to now I've only used the Swiss dots, which I love.

Lately, I have seen a few cards using two of the folders, one for the top and a different one for the bottom, which I think is really effective, so I decided to have a go. I had to choose between the Floral Fantasy and the Perfectly Paisley for the top of the card, and because the Floral Fantasy has a few hearts dotted about I thought it would be the one best suited for a wedding.

It took a couple of attempts to get them embossing on the same side and not to flatten the section I'd already done, but hey presto, in the end it worked. Overall I'm really pleased with the result, I do love these embossing folders.

The rose I've attached was made from instructions given in the gallery of a do-craft member, Gizmo. They are made using several layers of paper cut from a daisy punch. They are really effective and fun to do, so many thanks to Gizmo for the idea.

I tried several times to take a decent picture of the card, but think it's time for a better camera, as the pictures all came out a bit blurry. (I don't think the O/H will replace the one I have just to take pictures of my cards though, lol.) Well, this is the best of a bad bunch. Hope you get the picture.
