Less is More - Lucky Dip

Hi All, here's my card for this week's Less is More challenge which is a nice simple bit of paper piecing.

For the sentiment and border I created my base card in Craft Artist.  I then stamped out the Papermania Sausage Dog stamp onto a snippet of Pink Petticoat gingham and co-ordinating plain paper and just coloured his nose black and added some faux stitches.  A real quick and easy card.

Allsorts Challenge - No Designer Papers

Evening peeps, happy Sunday evening.

Here's a card I made  using two fabulous sets from Honeydoo.  One set is sentiments which compliment the other set which is a wine glass, bottle, bunches of grapes and a leaf.

I stamped and coloured lots of leaves and bunches of grapes before cutting them all out - time consuming but actually quite therapeutic.  I then stuck all the leaves on individually creating a vineyard look.  I also cut out the glasses and added some dimension with some foam pads.

This is a fabulous set which I know will get lots of use.  If you haven't come across Honeydoo stamps before, do check them out - they are fabulous quality and great value for money.

I'm going to enter in the Allsorts Challenge for this week which is to create a card and not use any designer papers.  They are offering two great prizes - tickets to the NEC in November and digi stamps from Deedee's Digis - either (or both) of which I'd love to win.

http://promarkerchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/week-316patchwork.html

This week's Promarker challenge is called 'Patchwork'.

The sponsor is:
[Little%2520Claire%255B4%255D.gif]

who is offering some new papers called 'Quirky Quilts' as a prize.

For my card I used XCut Hexagon dies.
The papers are bits of left overs from Pink Petticoat.
The image is a Dinky stamp from Little Claire (it just shows you can make a large card with a small stamp - my card is 8 X 8).
The tape measure was made from an Xcut embossing folder.
I used the computer to generate my seniment.
The cotton reel is from Material Girl digi set from PP and I used other bits and pieces from my stash.

Of course, the image was coloured with Promarkers:

Sorry the picture isn't great.  It's a very dull day here in Solihull today.

Here's a close up:

Thanks for dropping by.

Passion for ProMarkers Week 315–Boys will be boys

Hi folks.  Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far.

Today I've dug out my Promarkers which have been sadly neglected for a while to enter into the Passion for ProMarker challenge.  A difficult one we all seem to struggle with - cards for men.

[DigiStamp%2520Boutique%2520logo%255B2%255D.gif]
Sally-Ann from the Digistamp Boutique is offering a £10 voucher to use in the boutique for one lucky winner.

Here's my entry:

As the sponsor is the Digistamp Boutique I've used one of Sally-Ann's images I bought a long time ago - Jim Mowing the Lawn.

I cut Jim and the grass out using my Cameo and added foam pads to Jim to give some dimension.  I coloured both Jim and the grass with Promarkers.
The puffy clouds background paper is Pink Petticoat.
The sentiment is by Paula Pasqual and I mounted it onto a die cut from the set that came with my Sapphire machine.

Thank you for dropping by.

Week 242 Theme - Technology

Hi folks, this week's Less is More challenge is just that 'a challenge'. This is the theme:

TECHNOLOGY

What comes to mind with this word?
Love it or hate it, this is a word which is part of modern living...
we couldn't live without it these days although sometimes it's very hard to live with it!
So what can you come up with?
Give your imagination free rein!

My card isn't very imaginative, but here it is:

I used bits of card I have stashed away in a carrier bag to cut out the letters with my Cameo.  A bit of a mat and that's it.

Hope you like it.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Less is More - Wishing

I was so thrilled to be showcased in last week's Less is More Challenge.  Thank you ladies, it was such a lovely surprise.

Here is the spec for the challenge this week:

                                                             It's One Layer time
This title this time is
WISHING!
You don't necessarily have to have that word on your card, but the sentiment or design should reflect the theme!
Greetings cards are all about sending good wishes to someone, so it shouldn't cause too many problems... the one layer element is another matter of course!

DO remember that white space and try not to add too many embellishments!

Here's my card:

I love Card-io stamps - I have more of them than any other stamps in my collection and I've choosen the Pretty Impatients set for this card.  I added the birds from another
Card-io set called Feathered Friends.  The sentiment is from Paula Pascual.  All the inks are Versa Color.

For more inspiration why not drop over to the Less is More website and check out the DT cards.

Thank you for dropping by.

Season's Greetings

Hi guys, here's a card I made today after seeing the challenges set for the following two:

http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/cfc143.html
and
http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/fab-friday-72.html

The background is an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. I added Tea Dye Distress Ink directly to the folder.
The doily is a Cheery Lynn die and the poinsettia's are a Rob Adams die.
The sentiment is from a HoTP set I've had in my stash for years.

Thanks for dropping by.

Less is More Week 240 - Colour Challenge

This is what the challenge is this week:

It's time for another colour challenge and we have chosen
Green & Gold
We would like you to keep any additional colours to neutral tones and make it obvious which two colours are this week's chosen shades.
There doesn't have to be a lot of each colour... just remember to keep your design
Clean and Simple
with lots of white space!

And here's my entry:

Gold card is sooo difficult to photograph - it took umpteen times to get a reasonable photo.

The Noel was cut out using my Cameo
The trees were cut out with a Sizzix Paddlepunch, before that the card was run through a holly embossing folder which was coloured with green ink - I then coloured the holly leaves and berries with a gold pen.
A few sequins finished the card.

A card for two challenges

Hi guys, sorry for another lapse in blogging - struggling to find time to do anything a the moment - hope things will be better now the nights are drawing in and the garden is less demanding.  I have whipped up a card at the last minute to join in with the Less is More Challenge - here's what it is this week:

Less is More has a Lucky Dip Challenge and it is to use

                                 Sprays/Mists

and I also want to enter into

Time Out challenge for this week which is to 'Make your Mark' which calls for you to use any kind of marker on your card

Here's my card:

Sorry if the picture is a bit dark - a bit of a dull afternoon.

I used this little tool that I've had in my stash for years and not used much to spray ink from a Whispers Watercolour Pen through a stencil.

The die cuts are Memory Box and the banner is a snippet of paper from Pink Petticoat.

The Hello was printed out with my Dymo embossing tool.

Thank you for dropping by.

CASology - Week 161

Anyone who has visited my blog over the years know that CAS is my favourite kind of card and I've had a little time to create something for the CASology challenge this week which calls for Plaid.  The Design Team have come up with lots of lovely inspiration if you care to pop over and take a look.

Here's my card:

The cute elephant is from the Silhouette store and I used the fill pattern function for the plaid ear which I printed twice and decoupaged for a bit of dimension.  I also added a sequin to the heart.
The sentiment is a Paula Pasqual stamp.

Thanks for dropping by.

I love ProMarkers Challenge

Here's a card I made using Little Claire's stamps.  It's a blatant copy of the layout of a card I found on their blog (oh well, they do say imitation is the highest form of flattery), but I loved it so much I thought I would make it for my nephew's new baby. I did change it slightly by using a Sizzlit die cut button in the middle and not the bird, lol.  I hope they don't mind.

It just so happens that it fits in with the challenge at: http://ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/280-3-or-more-layers.html (I love ProMarkers) which is 3 or more layers.

I used Nesties squares for each of the four panels and mounted them onto a piece of yellow Bazzill cardstock and then layered it onto a 7x 7 white card blank.

Obviously, I used Promarkers to colour the Little Claire's image.  Oops, just realised I put the blue and green at the bottom - it would have looked better if I'd mixed them up a bit more - too late to change them now (I used extra strong tape to fix them - duh!).

Thank you for stopping by.

Gosh

I can't believe it's been well over a year since my last post. I have suffered really badly from anxiety over this last year and a bit and I lost interest in crafting.  I think I'm over it now and am starting to get a bit more enthusiastic about making cards and crafting again.

I'm glad to see my favourite challenge blog Less is More is still going strong and I've have made a couple of cards to enter into this week's challenge.

This week is a celebration as it's Chrissie's 70th birthday - happy birthday Chrissie, I hope you have a wonderful time.

The challenge is all about 'Snippets' - so here's my efforts:

My first card has used a snippet of ribbon I found in my ribbon/string bag of bits.
The image is from Miss Katie Cuttables

My next card is made using bits of card and I have used alphabet dies from Mollymoo,  stamps from Card-io and birthday die from Rob Adams:

Well I did enjoy making these - I'd forgotten how craft has the ability to absorb you into a little world of your own and take your mind off your woes.

Thank you for dropping by and I hope to be a regular again.
